How to Install a Toilet

In this video, I'll teach you how to install a toilet. You really can do it and it doesn't take that much time, extensive plumbing skills or experience, just patience.

Some important advice I can give you is that if you're purchasing a new product, please realize that they come in different sizes.

Determine the distance from the wall to the center of the drain hole in the floor. It's usually 12 inches but some toilets compensate for drains centered from 10 to 14 inches from the wall. Most toilets sold at such places as Home Depot and Loews fit 12-inch areas. A little extra space is O.K. but if you don't have enough space, then there will be problems! And you don't have to take the toilet off to get the correct size information! Simply measure from the wall to the middle of the bolt cap on the floor.
